The success of our program has our camp roster full just weeks after its closing at the end of the summer. Though the physical workout is vigorous, the real emphasis is on their treatment and respect for each other.

Our philosophy, together with the physical training and the emphasis on academic excellence, has helped create some really outstanding individuals who not only achieve success on athletic fields but also in their academics and community outreach as well. These successes have created a lot of excitement with interested and influential onlookers from the academic community to the point whereby colleges and universities have taken a great interest in the graduates of our program. Both the Air Force Academy and West Point are looking for youth that embody our concepts. West Point was so impressed with the attitudes and fervor of our campers that for the past six years the academy has sent cadets to live, train and grow with these young men for the entire summer. West Point Academy now directly recruits out of our camp.
Other colleges such as Stonehill, Bentley and Northern Michigan have also taken an interest in the students graduating from the Ron Burton Training Village. Each of these colleges is offering two full scholarships to RBTV campers who have completed five years of growth and commitment with us. So each year we have six students going to school on full scholarships who would have otherwise never been able to afford college.
Northeastern University, through their Center for Sports in Society, brings out their volunteer program trainers and runs the “Life Skills” program at the camp. Northeastern is also considering financial aid to some of our campers.
In addition to these wonderful academic partnerships, in November of 2002, the Boston Red Sox announced their formation of a formal partnership with the Ron Burton Training Village in an effort to enhance their community outreach. Now, during various weekends throughout the baseball season, the Red Sox are sponsoring “Red Sox Children’s Retreats” at the Ron Burton Training Village. The retreats will be a three-day, condensed “micro-version” of the Ron Burton Training Village five-week camp.
