Evaluation

Our results and successes are measured in a variety of ways but most cogently through the numbers of campers we inspire to be on the honor roll, involved in athletics and community service and ultimately attending higher educational institutions which prior to the RBTV, many were not considering.
7-Mile Run - 6:30am

To be accepted back into the program each summer the campers must be on, or clearly approaching honor roll status in their respective schools. When we accept our campers at 11 or 12 years of age, the percentage of them on the honor roll or grades reflecting that status is usually 10% or less. Our upper classmen honor roll percentage is 70%. We have found that after several years of attending the camp, over 90% are involved in athletics and 70% are in involved in leadership or community projects and 90% end up furthering their education.

Confidence and a belief in one’s self are achieved through the athletic training regimen. Most campers upon arrival never believed they could run seven miles. However, after slowly building up to it over the course of five weeks, they find themselves not only running the seven mile course, but actually racing it. They begin a process of understanding and believing in what they can do, rather than those things people lead them to think they couldn’t.
