Becoming a Knight of Ron’s Table is the highest level of honor at RBTV. The Knighthood is earned, never given and it requires the deepest level of commitment. In order to become a knight, a camper must willingly promise to make a life-long commitment to ethical ideals and principles of RBTV. There are several requirements a young man must accept and do his best to live by, everyday of his life. Every young man who enters the gates of the village should strive to become a Knight in order to be the best he can be both in the classroom, on the athletic field and in the community.
The Knights of Ron’s Table began back in 2001.Ron Burton Sr. wanted to create a special group of young men that epitomize the four pillars upon which RBTV stands: Love, Peace, Patience and Humility. Ron made it clear that becoming a Knight is not something to be taken lightly. A Knight always strives to be the first to serve others and lead by example. Every day, Knights are dedicated to putting God first, others second and themselves last. “The greatest thing in the world is to be a servant and love another,” Ron Burton always said.
There are basic requirements one must fulfill before becoming a Knight. He must be at least 15 years old and attend high school. Every Knight is required to remain on the honor roll for all four semesters. All Knights take part in a special ceremony in front of all of their peers. Knights play a very important roll and they are the type of leaders RBTV is looking for in every young man.
