Becoming a Knight of Ron’s Table is the highest level of honor at RBTV. The Knighthood is earned and it requires the deepest level of commitment.
In order to become a Knight, a Villager must willingly promise to make a life-long commitment to the ethical ideals and principles of RBTV. There are several requirements a young person must accept and do their best to live by, every day of their lives. Every young man and young woman who enters the gates of the Village should strive to become a Knight in order to be the best he or she can be both in the classroom, on the athletic field and in the community.
The Knights of Ron’s Table began back in 2001. Ron Burton Sr. wanted to create a special group of Villagers that epitomized the four pillars upon which RBTV stands: Love, Peace, Patience and Humility. Ron made it clear that becoming a Knight is not something to be taken lightly. A Knight always strives to be the first to serve others and lead by example. Every day, Knights are dedicated to putting God first, others second and themselves last. “The greatest thing in the world is to be a servant and love another,” Ron Burton always said.
There are basic requirements one must fulfill before becoming a Knight. He or she must be at least 15 years old and attend high school. Every Knight is required to remain on the honor roll for all four semesters. All Knights take part in a special ceremony in front of all of their peers. Knights play a very important role and they are the type of leaders RBTV is looking for.
