Steve Pagliuca is Co-Chair of Bain Capital, a leading global private investment firm, with approximately $105 billion in assets under management. He also serves as the global head of Bain Capital Private Equity’s technology, media, and telecommunications vertical and financial services vertical.
Mr. Pagliuca received the Harvard Business School Association of Boston’s 2018 Business and Community Leader of the Year Award in recognition of his contributions to leadership and dedication and commitment to numerous nonprofits in Boston and beyond. For his fierce commitment to all children, dedicated leadership and generosity, in 2017 he was awarded the Voice of the Child Award from the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC). In 2010, he received the American Dream Award from Habitat for Humanity for outstanding contributions to enhancing the Greater Boston Community and in 2005 he received the Bright Star Award for recognition of his community charitable activities.
The Pagliuca Family Foundation, has funded the Harvard Pagliuca Life Lab which is a state-of-the-art wet lab set up to incubate life science related business start-ups by Harvard students. Currently, the Lab is hosting approximately 17 high potential start-up businesses. Mr. Pagliuca is a Managing General Partner and co-owner of the World Champion Boston Celtics. As a Managing Partner and Chairman of the Basketball Committee, he has focused on the development and improvement of the basketball operations. Mr. Pagliuca is also President of the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation. The Shamrock Fund helps children gain access to housing, healthcare and other services in partnership with local charities. He is also a Trustee of Bain Capital Children’s Charity.
Mr. Pagliuca is a member of the HBS Board of Dean’s Advisors, the Harvard University Board of Overseers’ Committee on University Resources (COUR), and the HBS Healthcare Initiative Advisory Board. He also serves on the MGH President’s Council and is a member of the Eisenhower Fellowships and Duke University Board of Trustees. Mr. Pagliuca has been active in the area of public policy and is a former candidate for the U.S. Senate. He is a frequent contributor on television, radio and print media to provide commentary focusing on global economic issues.
Mr. Pagliuca received a B.A. from Duke University in 1977 where he also played freshman basketball, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 1982.
